Feed the People!
A conversation on agrifood industry, public capacity, and how change happens.
- When
- Tuesday, August 25, 2026
2:00 p.m. EDT - Duration
- 90 minutes
- Facilitated by
- Jesse Hirsh
Feed the People! by Jan Dutkiewicz and Gabriel N. Rosenberg makes a direct argument for taking industrial food seriously. The book asks readers to look past familiar stories about local food, purity, and nostalgia, and to recognize the scale, technology, coordination, and infrastructure that make modern food widely available.
Future Herd is convening a live salon on the book and on the larger questions it raises for food and agriculture in Canada.
What does a strong and responsible agrifood industry need to be able to do? How do systems change when they are already carrying the work of feeding people? What do we gain, and what do we miss, when we describe food through simple stories about industry, localism, abundance, or reform?
Jesse Hirsh will facilitate a 90-minute live conversation.
